Candidate Preparation
- Know the position you are applying for. Ensure that you understand the job description and details that we provide about the role itself.
- Go to the employer website and get familiar with the products and/or services that the company provides.
- Print a map or program the address of the interview location into your GPS. We will provide you with directions and formatted resume by email at least 24 hours in advance of your interview.
- Arrive 15+ minutes early to the interview in order to allow ample time to park and find the interview location. If you are not 15 minutes early, you are late.
- Dress appropriately for the interview. We strongly recommend wearing conservative, business attire to every interview unless specifically advised otherwise.
- Turn your cell phone on vibrate or off. During the course of an interview, there are probably not many other calls that would take precedent over the interview.
- Look prepared and be prepared. Bring extra copies of your formatted resume (from INC Staffing) with you to the interview. Bring a fresh pad of paper, a working pen and a bottle of water.
- Prepare a list of no less than five and no more than ten questions that would need to be answered in order for you to say "I would or would not accept this job if it were offered to me".
- Answer in Bullet Point fashion: either "Yes, and here's what I've done..." or "No, but I have experience with a similar version, etc...
- Be prepared for the out-of-the-box questions! e.g. "How many gas stations are there in the US?" -- they don't care about the answer, but how you think/analyze/process a problem or issue.
- "Be sure to ask: "What skills or abilities do you feel I'm lacking, to prevent me from being your #1 candidate?" This sells you and allows the hiring manager to open up about what they think.
- ASK for the Job! Or at least inform them of your interest - during the interview.
- Be yourself.
- Relax.
